Outreach Infant Adoption Program

The Center for Youth & Family Solutions Outreach program is an extension of the Infant program, but is designed to assist families who are not directly participating in the CYFS Infant Adoption Program. This program has many options, so it is important for the applicant to work closely with the Adoption Specialist to ensure a good fit between their specific situation and outreach program.

Participants in our Outreach Program may also be contacted by a birth parent that is not affiliated with The Center for Youth & Family Solutions. In that event, CYFS Pregnancy Planning and Family Counselors can provide services to the birth parent, including counseling, support, surrender services, placement services, and post-adoption services. The Adoption Specialist will then provide pre-adoptive counseling to the prospective adoptive parents as well as post adoption services, including reports to the court for the purpose of finalization. Specific fees will be determined based on services required.

Please note there will be additional charges if you live outside our agency catchment area.

Outreach Option 1

This option is most beneficial to families who are licensed through another agency, and have an adoption home study in place. In this program, a participant’s profile and DVD presentation will only be shown to The Center for Youth and Family Solutions birth parents who are contemplating adoption if there are no other prospective adoptive families that match criteria in our current pool of families.

Requirements:
  • Approved adoption home study (within one year). If the home study is older than one year, an update will be required
  • Cooperating Agency Agreement from the Adoptive Home Study Agency
  • Meet all requirements listed in The Center for Youth & Family Solutions Infant Adoption Program

Outreach Option I Fee: $500.00 – It includes a review of the current home study to determine its eligibility, an assessment, an informational update and case management until identified by a birth parent. From this point, fees will reflect the specific situation and will be assessed by the Adoption Supervisor.

Outreach Option 2

Families sometimes desire to move from a foster family home to an adoptive home. This program is most beneficial to families who are licensed foster parents through The Center for Youth & Family Solutions or another agency but not for the purpose of adoption. This option requires adoption parent training and a home study to be completed by The Center for Youth and Family Solutions Adoption Specialist. Once an adoption home study is completed, a participant’s profile and DVD presentation will be shared with birth parents contemplating adoption if there are no prospective adoptive families that match criteria in our current pool of families.

Requirements:
  • Approved Foster Care Licensing Home Study through either The Center for Youth and Family Solutions or another Licensed Child Welfare Agency (current within one year)
  • Cooperating Agency Agreement from any Foster Care Licensing Home Study agency other than The Center for Youth & Family Solutions
  • Meet all requirements listed in The Center for Youth and Family Solutions Infant Adoption Program

Outreach Option II Fee: $1,000.00 – It includes a review of the current home study to determine its eligibility, an assessment, an informational update and case management until identified by a birth parent. From this point, fees will reflect the specific situation and will be assessed by your adoption specialist.
