“Evidently it’s easy to dump on human service providers, as this time of year the Legislature often can be counted upon to do exactly that in targeting a constituency often unseen and unfelt by its members — the state’s most vulnerable — for its cuts of first resort.
It’s why members of the Human Services Collaborative stopped by for a visit — with representatives from the Center for Prevention of Abuse, Human Service Center, Easter Seals, Center for Youth and Family Solutions, Community Workshop & Training Center — just days before the scheduled end of this legislative session, which as in past years has them feeling the squeeze between the worst-case budget scenario and the not-much-better best case (read more).”
