Resources for Referring Professionals

Therapists, educators, counselors, doctors and others in a range of professions encourage the friends and families of someone who may be facing a crisis pregnancy to reach out to the Center for Youth & Family Solutions for guidance and assistance. We partner with individuals to collaborate on what the best solution is for their specific circumstances. To assist professionals, CYFS offers a variety of resources.

Making a Referral

For anyone facing an unexpected pregnancy, the first hurdle is knowing where to turn, and people may turn to you. As teachers, physicians, social workers, caseworkers, attorneys, nurses, coaches and school counselors, you may find yourself in a position to help by making sure those looking for assistance get the personal and professional help they need when facing a crisis pregnancy.

When you find yourself trying to assist a person who has just learned of an unplanned pregnancy, it is important to remember you are not alone.

The Center for Youth & Family Solutions Crisis Pregnancy Counselors are ready to work collaboratively with you to ensure each person has the knowledge and support needed to make informed decisions surrounding their unexpected pregnancy. These Crisis Pregnancy Counselors can meet with expectant teen parents in our local office or can come to any hospital, clinic, school, church or other place where the teens will feel most comfortable.

Our counselors understand the intense emotions that surround a crisis pregnancy. We provide professional counseling with a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to help sort out thoughts and feelings, and to learn more about the realities of options.
