Who We Are

A senior’s ability to live independently can be threatened by illness or injury, grief and loss, struggling finances, isolation, anxiety or depression. The New Day Senior Services program at The Center for Youth and Family Solutions (CYFS) provides in-home counseling, case management, volunteer companion services, and Outreach Services that help older adults continue to live independently with hope and dignity. Our professional staff and dedicated volunteers are experienced and trained to meet the specific needs of the seniors we serve.

Who We Serve

Annually, we provide services to over 500 seniors, ages 60 and older, in Fulton, Marshall, Peoria, Stark, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties.

Our Programs

Through in-home counseling, the Friendly Visitor Program, and outreach services, we offer support to seniors to help improve their quality of life or prevent or delay nursing home placement. Funded by The Illinois Department of Human Services, The Central Illinois Agency on Aging, and the Heart of Illinois United Way, New Day Senior Services are provided at no cost to seniors.

In-Home Counseling Program

Provides professional supportive counseling in the home of seniors to help them cope with issues including depression, grief, anxiety, family relationship issues, loss of functioning, and chronic illness.

Friendly Visitor Program

Sometimes older adults just need a helping hand or a friend. Our caring volunteers help seniors continue to live in their own residence and positively influence seniors’ experience of aging. Some volunteers help by running errands or by providing respite for caregivers.

Outreach Services

A CYFS outreach worker will meet with a senior or their caregiver in the home to help identify available services and resources that will help meet their needs. CYFS provides outreach services in Fulton, Peoria, and Tazewell counties.

Referrals to any of our senior programs may be made by family members, service providers, churches, medical professionals or others in the community.

Are you a service provider interested in professional training?

We provide education to seniors and those serving seniors on the impact of mental health issues affecting older adults so that referrals can be made to initiate interventions for those struggling with mental health issues.
